Internship FAQs:
What's expected of interns?
Interns are expected to care about the environment and to work in a professional context with Aytzim staff, volunteers and other interns, so interns should be self-starters who work well both independently and with others.
When are internships offered?
Internships are offered for the fall, spring and summer academic terms.
Where would I work?
Because interns work remotely, internships can be done anywhere in the world.
What are the hours?
Hours are flexible depending upon the intern's schedule and the needs of any given week. Generally speaking, interns should be prepared to work 15-20 hours per week during the fall and spring terms and 35-40 hours per week during the summer term.
Can I get academic credit for interning?
Since Aytzim is an all-volunteer nonprofit, all internships are nonpaid but usually can be done for academic credit. Selected interns also receive free Aytzim membership.
Do I have to be a student?
Aytzim internships are open to both students and non-students.
Do I have to be Jewish?
Religious affiliation or lack thereof is not considered in the internship-application process. Our nondiscrimination policy prohibits religious discrimination.
What if I apply and don't get accepted, can I apply again later?
Yes.
